Where to begin….

The students have all been sponsored!!

The students have all been sponsored!!

Today was incredible! We had so many people out to the Open House today. Thank you to all who came out to support us! It was truly amazing to be able to share our passion for what God is doing through T12 with all of you. If you weren’t able to make it, no worries! All the information you need should be on the website! If you have ANY questions at all please feel free to go to our contact page and send us an email.

So here are the big things God did today:

  • ALL 12 of our students have been sponsored for this school year!! Praise the Lord!
  • Our Haitian Director has been partially sponsored for his college education!
  • We received many generous general donations!

I think I may have said this a hundred times today but I want to encourage everyone to keep this in mind when considering donating- EVERY little bit counts. Yes, all of our students are sponsored for this year, but there is still so much God is doing and the funds are still needed to run this non-profit year round.

A huge thank everyone who supported us through prayer today, we could not have done it without you as well.

If you are interest in our Impact trip please email us at info@transformedtwelve.org. Applications are available upon request. The deadline for our May trip sign up is March 31st!

processing our trip.

This blog post was written on Friday! Sorry for the late post!

Today is a bitter sweet day as we leave Haiti and head home. In the past few days since our last blog God has done a lot! Nothing absolutely crazy, but enough for us to notice and smile because we are sure it was His will for us to be here this week! Yeay!

During our team meeting on Tuesday we covered a lot of ground. A few things on our agenda were future teams, health of our students, and a school. We have some really exciting ideas for our upcoming trips in May and August (dates will be posted soon!). Something we are very excited about with our trips is showing people the need in Haiti as well as showing people the beauty. We believe the natural beauty is just as important to see as the needs. It shows hope and restoration! We are planning to do a week for each team. Stay tuned for further details on the trips.

This week was very important for us to be here for the T12 kids due to many medical needs that we were unaware of previously. We were able to address all the needs and create a plan for the future! Worms are a big problem in Haiti and can cause many health problems such as lack of protein, dehydration, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, headache, etc. There is a clinic where we happened to be staying and they graciously gave us enough medication for all 12! It doesn’t hurt to take it if you don’t have worms but immensely helps if you do! Praise God for providing in that situation.

One thing that God has shown us is the need for a school in 2 of our kids town. One of them has to walk and hour to school every day. There used to be a school closer to his house but it shut down because they couldn't afford the teachers anymore. This is something that we are holding very loosely, the opportunity to get the school running again and provide an entire community with an education. Our prayer is that God would open doors if it is His plan, and to close doors if it’s not. Please partner with us in prayer for this specific need. We will not be moving quickly on this until we hear God’s GO!

Here is a little way in which we physically noticed Jesus this week. We went to see a beautiful waterfall on Wednesday. On the way up the mountain to get there our car began smoking. We didn't freak out or panic. The guys hopped out and fixed it in about twenty minutes. No worries. Once we got to the waterfall, flat tire. No fear. It was changed in under a half an hour. God is so cool and He truly took the fear away and provided for us in simple ways. Both of those encounters could have been much worse, but God is bigger!

As we process on our flight home it is evident that God is doing big things in a small way. We feel so incredibly blessed that we are a small organization. It really allows us to notice what God is doing! It is so fun!

So here is what we can take away from this trip-

Protein and worm medication are ESSENTIAL.

Our trips are going to be really COOL.

God wants to do HUGE things but it will be slowly.

Thank you all for your support and prayer. Praise God for His provision and for a safe trip! Amen!

one big family.

Today was very productive! We started it off with getting some medical needs taken care of with the help of some of our friends down here. We were able to tend to a burn and small wound that one of our little ones has at the moment. Prayers for healing would be much appreciated.

Next, we went to a small church in Cabaret where we were able to spend the day with ALL of the T12 kids! It was an amazing experience to have all of them under one roof, sharing and praising God together. During camp we had the opportunity (through a translator) to explain to all of the kids what T12 is all about, and how it came to be, and to answer any questions they had. Wadson (T12 director in Haiti) also explained to them our mission and vision. Then, we got to give them the lovely care packages from the donations we received. A couple of the children are experiencing some extremely itchy rashes (very normal in Haiti) due to lack of hygiene, so it was a very good opportunity to explain to them how often they should bathe and how exactly to take care of themselves with the soap, shampoo, lotion, and other items we were able to provide for them. We believe this will make a huge improvement and take away the rash. A big thank you to all those who donated those items recently! They are being put to very good use here! And they were very much needed.

After that we played some games, sang some songs, and interviewed each one of them for upcoming student of the week blogs! So be on the lookout for those starting next week :) The last thing we did was eat lunch as a family. It was delicious beans and rice with chicken and coleslaw. mmmmmm. Just like yesterday :) It is so delicious. It was amazing just to be in community with this family. This big family that God has so cleverly woven together. It truly is beautiful to see this non-profit really come together in a way that is so obviously the work of God.

God is doing big things here and we are so excited to share them with you all in the future. We have a big day of planning tomorrow for future trips and teams. Please join us in praying for God’s provision and will to be done during our meeting tomorrow. Thank you for reading and we will update you again soon! Enjoy the photos while you wait for our next post!

one day. one passport.

It was not all a dream…

It all began about 3 days ago. I was having this intense fear about everything. I didn’t want to leave my room, my house, or my car. It was the strangest thing, because if you know anything about me I love hanging out with people and going on adventures. It was daunting knowing that I was leaving for Haiti in such a short time. This fear was crippling and I had no idea why. On top of that, what seems to be an ongoing cold I have had just kept getting worse and I was super weak. It wasn’t until yesterday that I finally realized why these negative physical and emotional occurrences were happening.

Yesterday I woke up around 9:30 and went to see my mom, she was flashing me her boarding pass for our trip to Haiti. She was so excited and told me to go check in for my flight. As a semi experienced traveler I thought ‘I can do that later, it never really makes a difference’, but just because she was beaming with excitement I decided to oblige. I pulled up the check in page on Delta only to remember I needed my passport to complete the process. So I got up and walked into my room headed towards my essential document…it was at that moment I stood in my doorway thinking ‘hmmm I actually have no idea where my passport is’. This was strange considering I like to have my passport somewhere where I can see it all the time because I like to look at it :) I know I’m weird. But anyway, that is when the panic set in.

I had no idea where it could be. I began to tear apart my bedroom. No bag, drawer, or sock went unturned. After I ripped my room apart my mom retraced my steps exactly, and then some. She looked everywhere. It was 1:00pm by the time we agreed it was GONE. If I thought I was panicked before, boy was I wrong. Losing a passport and not realizing it’s gone until less than a day before your international flight, is not a dream…it’s kind of a nightmare.

We began looking online what the process was to get a passport quickly, everything we read and heard was at the very least a 5 day process, if not two weeks. We called the passport place in Minneapolis and they explained that it may be possible to obtain a new passport the same day but not super likely. We decided to try, and pray. The earliest appointment wasn’t until today at 10:30am…my flight was at 6:30am. So we got in touch with an operator that was able to schedule me for the last appointment of the day 2:30 yesterday. It was 1:10.

My mom and I jumped in the car and raced down to the heart of Minneapolis. Praying, and thinking, and processing what it all meant, ‘was I not supposed to go, were we under spiritual attack, am I just super unreliable’  ;) you get the gist… So we get there and I get checked in. We got there a little early, and the guy (Eric) saw me within 5 minutes (it may have been less time then that even, but it felt like forever). He checked all of my applications, gave me a little crap for not pulling out my passport sooner, and told me he was optimistic about getting it done but couldn’t guarantee anything. My mom told him “we have people praying so we believe it will get done!”. His response was “if prayers make computers work faster, great!” And my mom and I both grinned and reassured him that our God was bigger than computers. He then explained to me that my passport photo that I brought was outdated and I needed to go take a new one and be back in less than a half an hour. We drove quickly to the post office, which was closed. Then headed over to the IDS building where Fed Ex got me my photos! Thank goodness my mom came with me because she was a fast get away car.

We get back to the building, give Eric my photo, he explains again it may not be possible, and we sit. And wait. And wait. Finally, a guy comes over and calls my name, he was holding a blue envelope and he began to pull documents out and there it was. A new, shiny, passport. I think I was in shock, I think I still am. What felt like forever.... was 45 minutes. The entire process once we walked in those doors took 45 minutes. Thank you Eric. God is good.

While I was waiting for my passport, after praying all day that God would do it. That He would show up. That He would just fix it. I had an extremely obvious epiphany. ‘Whoa, God let your will be done here. Passport or no passport. Let the  glory be to you God not matter what the outcome. If Haiti is where you want me this week you’ll make it happen. If not, you have a better plan than I do. Always.

The crippling fear, the worsening sickness, the loss of a passport. GONE. My God is bigger than ALL of those things and in His will is the perfect place to be. I am typing this blog as I sit in a chair 30,000 ft in the sky flying to Haiti. There was hardly a moment yesterday that I imagined I would be here. God has a plan, clearly. Let’s see what He does this week, I for one CAN NOT wait :) No fears, only Joy. Amen.

here it is. an answer to prayer. thank you to all who prayed!

Haiti, here we come.

Founder, Paige Mohs, and new T12 team member Teagan are heading to Haiti on Friday February 13th.  There is so much joy here at T12 about this upcoming trip!  We are asking you to come alongside us, if you feel led! One way is through prayer. We are asking that God would provide safe travels, good health, and OPPORTUNITIES. Another way you can support us is through physical and/or financial donations! Here is a list of physical donations we still need:

Notebooks, soap, deodorant, shampoo, petroleum jelly, lotion, and gently used backpacks.

These items contribute to the core of this organization by providing the families the tools they need to be successful in their education! Thank you in advance for considering donating.

Check us out.

Lastly, be sure to check out our website! Our intern, MacKenzie, has been working fast and furiously to get it up and running and we are SO blessed to have her! Go see her amazing work at: www.transformedtwelve.org

be transformed,
