processing our trip.
/This blog post was written on Friday! Sorry for the late post!
Today is a bitter sweet day as we leave Haiti and head home. In the past few days since our last blog God has done a lot! Nothing absolutely crazy, but enough for us to notice and smile because we are sure it was His will for us to be here this week! Yeay!
During our team meeting on Tuesday we covered a lot of ground. A few things on our agenda were future teams, health of our students, and a school. We have some really exciting ideas for our upcoming trips in May and August (dates will be posted soon!). Something we are very excited about with our trips is showing people the need in Haiti as well as showing people the beauty. We believe the natural beauty is just as important to see as the needs. It shows hope and restoration! We are planning to do a week for each team. Stay tuned for further details on the trips.
This week was very important for us to be here for the T12 kids due to many medical needs that we were unaware of previously. We were able to address all the needs and create a plan for the future! Worms are a big problem in Haiti and can cause many health problems such as lack of protein, dehydration, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, headache, etc. There is a clinic where we happened to be staying and they graciously gave us enough medication for all 12! It doesn’t hurt to take it if you don’t have worms but immensely helps if you do! Praise God for providing in that situation.
One thing that God has shown us is the need for a school in 2 of our kids town. One of them has to walk and hour to school every day. There used to be a school closer to his house but it shut down because they couldn't afford the teachers anymore. This is something that we are holding very loosely, the opportunity to get the school running again and provide an entire community with an education. Our prayer is that God would open doors if it is His plan, and to close doors if it’s not. Please partner with us in prayer for this specific need. We will not be moving quickly on this until we hear God’s GO!
Here is a little way in which we physically noticed Jesus this week. We went to see a beautiful waterfall on Wednesday. On the way up the mountain to get there our car began smoking. We didn't freak out or panic. The guys hopped out and fixed it in about twenty minutes. No worries. Once we got to the waterfall, flat tire. No fear. It was changed in under a half an hour. God is so cool and He truly took the fear away and provided for us in simple ways. Both of those encounters could have been much worse, but God is bigger!
As we process on our flight home it is evident that God is doing big things in a small way. We feel so incredibly blessed that we are a small organization. It really allows us to notice what God is doing! It is so fun!
So here is what we can take away from this trip-
Protein and worm medication are ESSENTIAL.
Our trips are going to be really COOL.
God wants to do HUGE things but it will be slowly.
Thank you all for your support and prayer. Praise God for His provision and for a safe trip! Amen!
